Head Types

  • D Head, Offset Head – Popular in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand for paper tape collated framing nails used in timber construction.
  • Convex Head – Used in applications where a rounded head is preferred for aesthetic reasons or to reduce surface damage, such as decorative woodworking or light carpentry.
  • Chequered Head – Designed to prevent hammer slippage and improve driving accuracy; commonly used in pallet and packaging nails for durability.
  • Finishing Head – Widely used in for furniture and interior finishing, such as door frames.
  • Marked or Decorative Head – Often required in EPAL and CHEP certified pallet nails across Europe and the USA for traceability and branding, with unique manufacturer codes or logos stamped into the nail head.

Shank Types

  • Smooth Shank - A global standard for general construction, pallet and bulk nails.
  • Ring or Screw Shank - Favoured in Europe and North America for construction, framing, and pallet nails due to their superior holding power.
  • Twisted Shank - Twisted wire is an alternative to screw shank nails.
  • Square Shank - Used for construction (particularly restoration) and specialty woodworking worldwide, and for boat construction in some Southeast Asian countries.

Point Types

  • Diamond Point (short, medium, long) – Versatile and used worldwide across multiple nail types.
  • Chisel Point, Blunt Chisel Point – Common in pallet manufacturing and packaging, especially where strong penetration and reduced wood splitting are needed.
  • Clinch Point, Shear Point – Frequently used in packaging and pallet industries across Europe, USA, and East Asia.
